Why are We Here?
Is this all there is? Is eating, sleeping, reproducing, laboring and growing old all there is to life? If we accept the principle that we are Spiritual beings, then an individual human life span is a humble thing. What purpose does it serve? Are we here to be tempted, tested, judged and then either condemned or blessed for eternity? According to many mystical and religious sources, man's purpose is to experience, learn, develop consciousness and morality and overcome the limitations and temptations of the physical realm. Some sources suggest that we were never meant to be in this realm, but became entangled or trapped here by projecting our consciousness into this realm and becoming attached to the pain, pleasure and survival paradigm. Different wording and different concepts are used, but the idea is similar across many cultures and philosophies. So, what does your heart tell you? What do you get excited about? Is it tangible or intangible? Is it an aesthetic quality, an accomplishment, a victory, a material acquisition, the fulfillment of a dream? These things are all important. Personally, there is only one thing that I get really excited about. That is the accomplishment of any individual in overcoming an obstacle or limitation and expanding beyond it. It doesn't matter if it is my accomplishment, realization or breakthrough, or someone else's. It doesn't matter if I am personally involved or if I am only honored to be a witness. This is the one thing that makes life worth living. Everything else is just details. This is why I am writing this manual. This is why I have spent so much time and effort studying, experimenting and exploring the development of consciousness. This is why I am here. Why are you here?
