Ethics and Morality in the Context of Human Psychic Super Powers

In our material reality, our concept of everything is formed through our five senses and intellectual reasoning. Our perception of a reality beyond the physical world involves the exercise of Spiritual faculties. These faculties are referred to as "paranormal" abilities, psychic abilities, extra-sensory perception, telepathy, etc. The existence of these abilities is generally discouraged by the thinking paradigms of our world. That they exist is generally accepted and undeniable. Yet, their open acceptance and application is ridiculed, discouraged, and persecuted. Why?

The issue is simple. The possession and exercise of these abilities has a fundamental impact on power and control.

With religion, the issue is "Who gets to control the minds of the followers?" If everyone can commune with God directly, why do they need intermediaries? Priests, Shamans, Ministers, Imams, etc. would lose their influence and power, and the wealth and prestige that their position gives them - unless they acted to facilitate that connection rather than interfere with it.

With health care, the issue is "Who benefits from the illness of others?" If everyone had a connection to the divine, healing abilities would be common and the causes of illness would vanish. Doctors, pharmaceutical companies, health insurance corporations, medical research institutions, etc. would lose trillions of dollars. If one only looks at the business prospects, one can recognize that the enormous resources now spent on illness management could be invested in improving the lives of everyone. From this investment, there could be a new source of growth and tremendous business opportunities.

With political, military, and economic control organizations, the issue is "Who has the advantage of the control of information?" If everyone had the ability to access the cosmic libraries, perceive truth directly, and communicate telepathically, there would be no more secrets. Without secrets, control by deception and relative advantage would be very difficult. Control could only be achieved through mutual agreement. With no secrets and with individuals aware of their own power, the exploitation of the many by the few would cease.

In short, every element of a control paradigm society, culture, religion, and economy would feel very very threatened. So threatened, in fact, that they would strongly oppose this development. This is why we have biased science, religions that promote blind faith and prejudicial thinking, and harsher suppressions like assassinations, witch burnings, and inquisitions.

Despite this hard wall of opposition, the development and cultivation of Spiritual faculties with positive Intent is necessary for the evolution, progression, and very survival of the Human race. This is why one cannot be shy about being a non-conformist and defying the politically correct social norms. This is also why those with vested interests to protect have to understand that change is necessary, and is in their long term best interest.

To be clear, the development of Spiritual Faculties, or human psychic super powers, is not the objective here. Rather, these develop as a mechanism through which individuals re-connect to and communicate with the Divine, the Source, or God depending on your preferred terminology. That these faculties then exist means that the parameters of daily life and existence have changed.

To be clear, developing a connection to the Divine is not an action against any religion. Religions can adapt to this broader perspective. After all, this is only a path for getting back to the roots from which the control paradigm religions were developed.

To be clear, developing a connection to the Divine is not an action against any government. It is true that governments are often corrupted by individuals acting in self-interest and exploitation. It is also true that governments provide the infrastructure and organization that enables large numbers of people to live together. Governments in any political system can adapt to a new freedom paradigm as a replacement for the control paradigm. After all, the "inalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" has been the principal inspiration of many governments and political movements.

To be clear, developing a connection to the Divine is not an action against science or medicine. Science easily adapts and, in fact, flourishes when the blocks to the free discovery of truth are removed. The same is true of medicine. The only threatened interests are the economic entities that profit at the expense of the well being of individuals. The economic entities can also adapt to the freedom paradigm and be even more prosperous.

To be clear, developing a connection to the Divine is not an action against money. Money is not evil, in fact, having some can be quite useful, especially in an economic society. Money is only a medium of exchange, a tool to facilitate the movement of energy and materials within a society. Economic entities can easily adapt to a freedom paradigm. Under a freedom paradigm, everyone is more prosperous, but the disparity between rich and poor shrinks and may eventually disappear. So if the richest person on earth could be twice as rich, wouldn't it be OK for everyone else to also be rich?

The issue of "secrets" and "secrecy" are very sensitive ones. In our world, secrets are necessary because everyone is perceived to have self-serving motives. Your secrets are what keep you safe from harm by others. Your secrets are what give you an advantage over real, perceived, or potential adversaries. This is taken very seriously by corporate, intelligence, and military interests. So, the ability to "know" or "remote view" by psychic means represents a very serious advantage or threat depending on who has access to these abilities. This is nothing new.

"Prophets," "seers," and "dreamers" have been known and sought out throughout history. Every religion holds these men in high esteem or in great fear. The general perspective from religion, however, is that the only real prophets are ancient ones. To have current ones with comparable powers might leave a lot of authority figures feeling very threatened. It was the same situation in ancient times. Consider the fate of many of the Biblical prophets. Were any of them executed by displeased rulers?

More recently, it is rumored that Edgar Cayce gave confidential readings for President Wilson in the white house during the Second World War. The Third Reich was an occult organization that enlisted Tibetan monks in its service. The British secret service was also reported to have engaged the services of certain psychics and occultists. In the last half of the twentieth century the former Soviet Union, the United States, and other nations engaged in paranormal research and development for intelligence gathering purposes. The "remote viewing" program was developed by individuals working through Stanford Research Institute and several government agencies. After the program was officially discontinued, a number of the former remote viewers entered the public domain and started businesses, training the skills and providing services to various corporate and government entities.

Criminals use "intuition" or "psychic skills" to select their victims. Successful predators are very good at determining which potential victims are dangerous and which are vulnerable. A former acquaintance had a former career as a psychic in the service of a high ranking drug trafficker. His job was to observe meetings and determine if his boss's business associates were telling the truth or lying, and if they could be trusted. His track record was so good that his boss trusted him to give the thumbs up or thumbs down on any person or deal. He was paid a lot of money for his services. Ultimately, he was betrayed by someone close, spent some time in prison, and got a different kind of life.

So, these faculties exist and are recognized and used by corporations, governments, criminals, and others for their own purposes and benefits. Is this good or bad? We are inclined to think that those working or perceived to be working on our behalf, or in accord with our belief systems, are "good" and those who are adversarial are "bad."

The "good" or "bad" character of a psychic talent or Spiritual Faculty is no different than any other talent, ability, or action. Guns are not good or bad, it is how you use them or don't use them. Money is not good or bad, it is how you use it or don't use it. So it becomes a matter of intent and choice . . . and responsibility.

Anyone familiar with this domain knows that psychic skills or Spiritual Faculties can be used to harm others. So shouldn't access to this knowledge and these skills be restricted to protect individuals from being harmed? This argument is often encountered but is irrelevant if you consider the fact that these talents are already in use by many entities with self-serving interests. The status quo on this subject is the equivalent of disarming citizens and arming criminals.

The controversy comes in the proposal that Spiritual Faculties and psychic abilities should be universally available and developed in everyone. To place this concept in perspective, consider this quote from Ingo Swann, the developer of the formerly secret military remote viewing program.

It is so completely obvious that suppression exists. It is also obvious why it exists. It is equally obvious that the status quo will not initiate reforms of any kind that would threaten the control paradigm. If such change is to occur, it must come from individuals, rising from the grass roots of society, working from the bottom up rather than from the top down. Or perhaps it is more correct to say, "working from the inside out rather than the outside in."

With power comes the temptation to misuse that power. Dealing with it is part of the growth process. All spiritual paths are built upon the refinement of the individual, the clearing of complexes, the purification of consciousness, the replacement of desire with will, and with clarity about the connection between man and the Divine. In many ancient schools of wisdom, the most powerful knowledge and advanced training was reserved for those who had proven themselves capable of handling the responsibility. Those ancient schools no longer exist. Today, you have only one school or teacher that is reliable and can be trusted. That is the divine heritage that exists within each individual. This divine heritage is accessed directly through the exercise of Spiritual Faculties. The connection is achieved by you seeking and finding. The power that you acquire as a consequence of this connection is yours to exercise with wisdom, insight, compassion, and responsibility.

Any hurtful action has consequences. No, there are no cosmic police who will beam down and bag those who misuse their talents, psychic, intellectual, or physical. No, God does not hover in the clouds zapping anyone who gets out of line. Figuratively speaking, everyone is given enough rope to hang themselves. And some do.

So what happens when someone misuses what they have and harms others? First, their ability to continue the abuse progressively diminishes. It is reported that Edgar Cayce lost his ability to do readings when his readings were used to determine the winners in horse races. It has been reported that native American shaman suffered from blindness after they misused their psychic ability to "see." Adam Mandelbaum, in his book The Psychic Battlefield A History of the Military-Occult Complex (Amazon Link), made this observation: "Many of those who were engaged in the remote-viewing program were, in fact, to have fatal and near fatal illnesses." Misuse increases separation from the Divine and increased separation reduces available energy and power.

Second, karma, the law of cause and effect, offers misbehaving individuals the opportunity to receive corrective education. No, it is not punishment for bad deeds. Harming others can only be done by one who doesn't understand or respect the connection that we all have with each other and with all of Creation. The correction comes in the form of subsequent life experiences and circumstances which provide an understanding of the consequences of choices made. It is the tyrant becoming the victim of tyranny sort of thing.

The imperative, then, is to not deny or suppress the inherent power that resides within even the least of us, but to recognize its nature and strive to render ourselves worthy of it.

Given that no one is perfect and that even with the best of intent, mistakes are likely to be made, it is appropriate to consider the application of Forgiveness and Recapitulation .
